pinweld ltd

Pinweld is a project to deliver an innovative plastic welding solution to the automotive repair market. The patented designs include units refined to excel at welding thin sheet plastics including the typical olefin plastics used in modern vehicles both in panels, bumper skins and engine bay components. This patented emergent technology consistently achieves outstanding results in testing and continues to gain excellent peer reviews. Typical responses centre around the minimal scarring left by the tool, its ability to work with various polymers (including unknown and recycled types) and its potential applicability to repairs on ADAS equipped vehicles. A huge vote of thanks is due to the team at the National Body Repair Association (NBRA). In particular Pete Eden who has worked tirelessly to help us forge industry links since being introduced to the possibilities of the technology late last year. Benefits to the technician using Pinweld devices include: A controllable and minimal weld width (1.5mm - 4mm) Single side welding with penetration feedback The ability to adjust to a large range of polymer types Minimal scarring of the welded seam Localised energy centre lowers risk of collateral damage during welding Reduced preparation and refinishing steps No requirement for metallic or fibrous mesh to add strength Repairs are potentially transmissive to ADAS equipment (currently under test) Complements existing plastic welding systems Welds do not compromise the flexibility of the repaired bumper Benefits to the business and environment by using Pinweld devices include: ...reduction and savings, only positives. We look forward to keeping you updated with developments in 2018
