Pratham Gurukul

The purpose of Pratham Gurukul is to promote education in vernacular languages, fine arts, science, and technology. Throughout the year, I oversee the operations of the Marathi school held once a week on Sunday. During the summer, I work with Pratham Gurukul's volunteer board of directors and volunteer teachers to create a curriculum for the school's classes (grades 1 - 4). After thorough preparation during the summer months, we are able to run our classes throughout the academic year and provide students with activities, homework, exams, and programs. In addition to running a weekly school to teach the Indian language of Marathi, Pratham Gurukul also promotes community service, outreach, and engagement by sponsoring, mentoring, and maintaining a group to prepare, cook, and serve dinner at Abode Homeless Shelter in Fremont, California.
