The Pratt & Whitney branch in Kalisz is the largest aerospace manufacturing plant in Wielkopolska. It employs over 1450 employees specializing in the production of components and parts for aircraft engines. Currently, the company is the main supplier in the UTC group in three key areas: complex gears, shafts of main engines, steering devices. PW Kalisz also participates in the production of components for the new type of FGDS gears for the latest aircraft engine in the Pratt & Whitney PW 1000 Pure Power family. This is the latest generation aircraft engine with an innovative reduction gear. It is distinguished not only by advanced technology, but also by care for the natural environment - it burns less fuel, emits less carbon dioxide, is more silent. These engines drive, among others Airbus A320 NEO aircraft. The owner and main customer of the company is Pratt & Whitney Canada, which currently employs over 10,000 employees in 200 countries. Pratt & Whitney Kalisz has existed since 1992. The company was established as a joint venture by PZL Kalisz Communications Equipment Plant and Pratt & Whitney Canada. Currently, it is part of the United Technology Corporation (UTC), which in 1996 acquired 100% of the company's shares.
