primaries of wa pty ltd

Our Aim: To provide the rural sector of WA with a comprehensive, cost efficient range of services at a competitive rate, whilst offering the highest level of personalised and professional service through innovation and commitment via our dedicated staff, each specialising in their own field. Our Values: We value our customers and the strength of our relationship. We value innovation. We strive for continuous improvement and endeavour to break new ground whether providing solutions to customers, improving our service standards or in making our business more efficient. We value performance, accountability and reliability. Our people deliver on their promises and take responsibility for executing their commitments. We wont lose sight of our heritage, which is founded on integrity, ethics and respect. National Strength: Primaries and its parent company, Ruralco, operate through a national footprint of businesses that specialise in wool and livestock agency, real estate agency, grain storage, handling and distribution, rural merchandise and financial services. Our History: Primaries of WA Pty Ltd was established as a wool broker in 1981 by Des Sheedy and Jim Craig and in 1982 Simon Joel became a partner in the business. In 1998 Primaries of WA acquired the wool and livestock business and premises of Cargill Australia Pty Ltd (Western Australia division), allowing expansion into the livestock business within Western Australia. Tasmanian based Roberts Ltd purchased shares in Primaries of WA in 1998 and became a majority shareholder in 2004. The relationship with Roberts provided Primaries of WA with a national footprint and the resources to continue its rapid expansion in the WA market. It has facilitated the provision of additional services outside wool and livestock marketing which include real estate, merchandise (CRT), finance and insurance. In 2006, Roberts merged with Ruralco Holdings Ltd and in 2014 Ruralco acquired 100% ownership of Primaries of WA. In 2016, Primaries of WA merged with FarmWorks Australia and The Farm Shop. These two businesses were also 100% Ruralco owned and have provided WA customers with general merchandise, farm chemicals and fertiliser. The merger created Primaries/CRT, now offering our WA clients a wider range of agricultural marketing services and farm inputs. In 2017, a new joint venture was established in Esperance to provide rural merchandise and agronomic services through Primaries CRT Esperance.
