The Tyrolean Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) is a prestigious academic center in the heart of Tyrol. It was founded in 2001 in Innsbruck under the name of Private University for Medical Informatics and Technology Tyrol. In 2004, our institution received its current name as part of the development of the health sciences spectrum. Our top-notch academic programs focus on on mechatronic, medical technology (Medtech), medical and biomedical computer science, psychology and medical science, health sciences, public health, nursing science and gerontology. UMIT offers high quality undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies and further trainings in the areas, which are most relevant to the modern healthcare, technology and innovation setting. 90% of the University's share hold belongs to Land Tirol (province of Tyrol) and 10% to the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck. In close cooperation with local, national and international research institutions and centers, UMIT offers a wide range of research and teaching activities at the highest standards.
