Quebec Wood Export Bureau

The Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1996, and whose mission is to develop overseas markets for wood products from Québec, maintain market access for these products and promote the use of wood in all markets, be it regional, provincial or national. QWEB has around 125 member companies exporting wood products, included in the following wood transformation groups : softwood lumber and value-added softwoods, hardwood lumber and value-added hardwoods, hardwood flooring, wood construction and wood pellets. In order to reach its objectives relative to market access and market development, in addition to the directors dedicated to each group, QWEB can also count on specialised directors working in overseas offices : United-Kingdom (Farnborough Hants), France (Toulouse), China (Shanghai) and Japan (Tokyo). Finally, for many years now QWEB has been actively engaged in several international negotiation forums within which the use of wood material is considered as a concrete means to fight climate change. One of these forums is the Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
