Ra Medical Systems

Ra Medical Systems was founded in 2002 to design, develop, and commercialize excimer lasers as tools for the treatment of vascular and dermatological diseases. Pharos excimer laser system was launched in October 2004 and was used as a tool in the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, and leukoderma. The company sold these dermatological products and services in August 2021 to focus solely on the larger vascular business opportunity. In May 2017, the DABRA laser and single-use catheter (together “DABRA”) received FDA 510(k) clearance in the U.S. for crossing chronic total occlusions in patients with symptomatic infrainguinal lower extremity vascular disease and has an intended use for ablating a channel in occlusive peripheral vascular disease. DABRA is our minimally-invasive excimer laser and single-use catheter system that is used by physicians as a tool in the endovascular treatment of vascular blockages resulting from lower extremity vascular disease, a form of peripheral artery disease, or PAD, both above- and below-the-knee. We believe our product enhances patients’ quality of life by restoring blood flow in arteries. We manufacture the DABRA excimer laser and catheters in our approximately 32,000-square-foot facility located in Carlsbad, California. Our vertically integrated facility is ISO 13485 certified and is licensed by the state of California to manufacture our sterile, single-use catheters in our clean room.
