Rand Transport was acquired by AHG Refrigerated Logistics (AHG RL) in 1986 as part of their logistics business. Rand had been operating as a long haul refrigerated carrier operating from the west coast to the east coast, with five road trains running on a weekly cycle. As a subsidiary of AHG RL, Rand grew steadily and in 1995 moved from road to rail services as refrigerated units were introduced on the East-West rail corridor. During the same year, Rand moved into their Head Office premises in Kewdale, WA taking over cold store facilities. This enables the company to combine both storage and transport needs for their customers a model that Rand has successfully implemented in all mainland states across Australia.
