ReCircle Recycling Ltd is developing the world's first 100% closed-loop domestic recycling appliance. Our mission is to transform how society reuses its used-materials and empower households and business to actively deliver and benefit from the circular economy. Were only managing a 2% recycling rate globally and less than 50% of individual household recycling actually gets recycled. Currently less than 10% of what does get recycled is re-manufactured into its original product. This is resulting in unacceptable levels of pollution - at current rates the weight of plastic in the ocean will equal the weight of fish by 2050. ReCircle has identified the major problem with the current system to be the insurmountable technical difficulties in separating mixed and hence contaminated recyclables. Added to this, the cost of these processes in current Material Recovery Facilities is not falling fast enough to ensure recycling becomes financially viable in an acceptable timescale.
