Relnuz is an online, amateur news aggregation portal and mobile application designed to highlight both hyper-local and macro-behaviours in a city or metropolitan area. Our platform which runs on the web, Android and iOS allows amateur journalists to take video footage of local events in their community including (but not limited to) social events, dining, business and technology and to serve them to the general community via the in-app interface. Our system is designed to eliminate reporter bias by allowing multiple users to cover the same event, and to eliminate corporate spin by having citizen journalists feed information relevant to themselves into the wheel.
