Renaissance Church

We are a diverse community of people who follow Jesus and love our neighborhood. Our Mission is to connect people to Jesus Christ and to each other. Our Vision is to see Harlem renewed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ with discipleship, community formation, and social justice. Our Values: The Gospel: The Gospel is the good news that because He loves us, God has entered the world in Jesus Christ, died for our sins and rose again. While we are undeserving, we find our redemption at the cross. Discipleship: Ultimately, the purpose of our community is to obey the great commission of Jesus to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Our intent is to see everyone develop a personal, passionate devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. Diversity: We believe that the kingdom of God is diverse, and the Gospel creates a diverse community of followers of Jesus here on earth. Our ultimate identity comes from God alone; therefore, as children of our heavenly Father, we come together as a family despite socio-economic, ethnic and cultural differences. Community: We believe true, meaningful life change can only happen in community. Personal spiritual disciplines are necessary, yet incapable of being the only path to maturity. Spiritual growth comes through participating in corporate worship, prayer, accountability, and meaningful relationships with other followers of Jesus. Justice: As the children of Israel experienced in exile, we believe the church must “seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper” (Jeremiah 29:7). We believe God wants renewal, and the church must actively engage in the city to seek its renewal by serving faithfully, giving radically, and praying for the good of the city.
