renature foundation

With farmers, local communities, businesses & industries, reNature Foundation restores degraded land through Agroforestry. By designing & implementing model farms and creating educational centres, reNature tackles climate change while providing food and income for farmers and communities. Monoculture conventional farming practises are deforesting billions of hectares of land worldwide and next gen of farmers are no longer attractive to farming. In oder to change that, a more sustainable farming practise is needed, therefore our goal is to co-design between businesses and industries a cross-sector commodity Agroforestry production. For example, plant the cocoa that Mars needs, shaded by the palm oil that Unilever needs. Shaded cocoa gives high-quality cocoa and palm oil likes a companion plant, therefore a multi-cropping system can benefit two different businesses. Besides providing beneficial ecosystem services, they would improve farmers health by decreasing the amount of agrochemicals and still generate more profit in the long-term. Furthermore, those businesses can share the story-telling of their RIV and inspire other industries to take action. We are now developing a portfolio of sustainable commodity production so that we can offer transitional packages for companies & industries. Our reNature Impact Value (RIV) are based on exchanging companies negative impact with Ecosystem Services (Planet) & Social Responsibility (People) value that we create fo them. reNature aims at making Agroforestry mainstream and has teams in Netherlands, Indonesia & Brazil, and over 150 volunteers. Our mission is to reNature. Interested in how you can help to restore nature? Check out our website, sign up for our newsletter, become a member, submit a project or directly fundraise.
