We research the functional biodiversity of farm animals in the context of their specific husbandry environments and derive solutions for sustainable farm animal husbandry from this. In an increasingly globalised world, making livestock farming sustainable and fit for the future is a complex task. The focus is on resource efficiency and conservation, taking into account local and global environmental and climate impacts, as well as animal welfare and health and food safety.
