Founded on the expertise acquired within the Timber Research Group at the Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Trento(Italy) and also on the research activity done in collaboration with international institutions like Lund University (Sweden) and University of Auckland (New Zealand), ReWiS provides services and expert consultancy in those branches of structural engineering that are getting more and more attention: Retrofit of existing buildings, design of Wooden structures and Seismic Engineering. ReWiS is an engineering firm formed in 2014, with the aim of offering a broad range of professional services in the field of structural engineering , such as design, consultancy, technical research and product development. The new standard requirements for the design of structures in earthquake prone areas, the increasing use of timber as structural material in many countries that lack tradition of wood constructions, the inevitable need to retrofit and reinforce existing buildings, make ReWiS extremely competitive on both the national and international market.
