Ricefield is at the forefront in the exploration of Chinese arts and culture in Scotland. We deliver cultural workshops, produce exhibitions, create events and provide support to artists of Chinese descent through our residency programme. We have an excellent reputation for leading the field as an arts organisation in Scotland which functions to serve schools, community organisations, public institutions, the Chinese community and arts audiences. Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre was founded in December 2004 by two Chinese women, Lin Chau and Julia Hung, their aim to promote and advance education of Chinese arts and culture in Scotland. Within its first year of operation Ricefield received the Empowerment Award (2005) for its contribution to arts and culture.
