Founded in 1990 Richter Associates is a firm of Consulting Civil, Structural & Geotechnical Engineers providing engineering design services for rail, civil, bridges, geotechnical and building construction projects across the UK and overseas. Operating from five offices in Marlow (Head Office), Birmingham, Huddersfield, Redhill and Exeter, at the heart of our practice, we provide a specialist engineering design service in temporary works and construction methodologies to assist Building and Civil Engineering Contractors deliver high quality construction projects within their programme and budget. We have detailed many projects involving various types of excavation support systems. These include traditional raking basement propping, cofferdams, ground anchored contiguous bored pile walls, and top-down basement methods. We have conducted many fully independent checks of temporary works for Principal Contractors. Our engineers are capable and have widespread experience in assessment of ground and ground water conditions to enable the design of cost effective geotechnical solutions associated with rail, civil, highways, building and marine projects. We are able to apply routine/conventional analytical tools as well as advanced 2D&3D Finite Element Analysis which includes for soil-structure interaction. We always and naturally endeavour to provide the most pragmatic advice on all geotechnical structures including foundations, retaining walls, embankments, earthworks, bridges, tunnels, shafts, etc. Marine works and related matters have also been dealt with by the practice. These include general harbour works, jetties, berthing dolphins, temporary bridge piers and the Nab Tower in the Solent.
