Rose Charities Canada

MISSION STATEMENT Through innovative projects and partnerships, Rose Charities Canada supports communities to improve their quality of life. We are a volunteer based organization that places emphasis on results. We are secular and non-political. By linking people and working together we all benefit. OUR PURPOSE We support community-based projects that have strong local leadership and dedicated volunteers. We work with them as they find their own solutions to the problems of poverty. Our role is to find the resources and skills to help them. These communities are able to stretch a small donation to achieve miracles. HOW WE WORK Rose Charities Canada is run by volunteers. This keeps our costs to a minimum ( 4%) and enables us to spend your donation on projects and not on salaries or overheads. We are always looking for more people to join us! We believe donors should be able to see where their money is spent. We will direct your donation to where you think it is most needed and provide you with the feedback to see its impact. Since we are a registered Canadian Charity, we are able to provide you with a tax deductible receipt. Registration number: 85944 2303 RR0001. HOW WE STARTED Rose Charities Canada became a registered Charity in May 2000 to support projects in Cambodia. These projects were started by a Canadian physician, Dr. William Grut, who was working in the devastation of Cambodia after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. At that time there was an urgent need to train local surgeons and to set up clinics. After the tsunami of 2004 Rose Charities Canada began projects in Sri Lanka and expanded to other parts of the world. Based on the success of Rose Charities Canada, People in other countries have formed their own Rose Charities organizations: New Zealand, Cambodia, USA, Australia, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Madagascar and Vietnam. These organizations have now informally united under the umbrella organization, Rose Charities International.
