The Rule of Law Institute of Australia (RoLIA) was founded in 2009 and is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW). RoLIA is an independent not-for-profit body formed to uphold the rule of law in Australia. The Institute aims to promote discussion on the importance of the principles which underpin the rule of law. In achieving this, the Institute engages with various branches of the community through commenting on Bills before Parliament, writing media articles and reports, speaking at conferences and has education programs to provide school students with an understanding of the importance of rule of law principles.
