SACOSS (South Australian Council of Social Service)

SACOSS undertakes research to help inform community service practice, advocacy and campaigning, and through a range of events promotes cooperation, and the sharing of resources and information. As the peak body for the non-government health and community services sector in South Australia, SACOSS has a number of key roles: - Research, policy development and advice to government on issues affecting the sector and vulnerable and disadvantaged South Australians - Representing the sector’s interest and advocating on behalf of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in public policy debates and in policy and legislative processes - Dissemination of information from the government to the sector, and from the sector to the broader community to increase understanding of the work we do and the needs of those we serve - Consultation and coordination of the sector to ensure we understand each other and work together - Building the capacity of the sector to enable better service delivery outcomes and better functioning of community organisations.
