Salu | Health Gauge is a private Canadian corporation that was founded by an team of young doctors, experienced engineers, designers, software developers, and health-tech business developers. The Health Gauge is a world-leading personal health monitor system, that includes a convenient to use wearable band, can be carried as a credit-card sized solution and additional App. It uses wireless Bluetooth technology and can pair with the Apple devices, or be worn as a stand-alone pairing with a smart device. The Health Gauge measures more than simply fitness tracker data: it is able to measure health biometrics including ECG, Pulse Wave Velocity, digital pulse-wave, Oxygen Saturation, and Blood Pressure without an inflatable cuff. The Health Gauge wearable is a revolutionary new way to measure and track health information. We are solving the problem of bringing high quality, and personalized health information to people in a more meaningful and engaging way and our starting point is helping address the area of preventative and ongoing monitoring of Blood Pressure, heart rate variability, pulse-wave velocity (PWV) and related pulse biometrics to help alleviate and reduce the growing stresses on our health care (and personal health) systems. Hypertension alone affects 1 out of 3 people over the age of 45, and 1 out of every 2 adults, and is a key pre-condition to heart disease and other serious health issues. It costs the health system over $50B a year, and if we include the personal costs of fatalities and other issues related to poor monitoring of heart health it is well greater than that. We are going well beyond what others are doing in solving this problem, and addressing the interests in high data accuracy through our work by building large data sets to apply in our neural net training and development. While we are currently building both a card- and wrist- form factor IoT device and software assets, we have the capabilities to create other form factors that could be applied in different use-case settings.
