Samaggi Samagom (Thai Students' Association in the UK)

Samaggi Samagom is the oldest and largest Thai student association abroad, established in 1901 under the royal initiative of King Rama VI. For over a century, it has served as a central community for Thai students in the United Kingdom, connecting individuals across more than 40 universities. With a mission to support, empower, and unite Thai students, Samaggi Samagom continues to foster cultural identity and student well-being throughout the UK. The association is strongly committed to academic and professional excellence. It organises the Samaggi Academic Conference and Careers Fair (SACC), a Research Symposium for postgraduate students, and a range of panel talks covering disciplines such as Art, Social Science, and STEM. Furthermore, the Silpa: Arts Exhibition provides a stage for emerging Thai creatives, featuring panel discussions on film, fashion, illustration, and branding. Samaggi Samagom also collaborates with external partners through initiatives like Health Challenge Thailand and the ATSA Careers Fair 2024. In 2025, the upcoming Samaggi Case Competition will offer Thai students in the UK a national platform to demonstrate their creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Beyond academics, Samaggi Samagom actively promotes cultural engagement and social connection. Events such as Samaggi Night, the Loy Krathong Festival, and sponsorship of performances like T Stage Musical and Bath x Bristol Thai Night highlight its role in preserving and celebrating Thai culture. The association also organises sports tournaments like the Samaggi Games and North Games and leads collaborative initiatives such as the Samaggi Summit. As an active member of the Europe Thai Association, Samaggi Samagom continues to build a strong, interconnected Thai student community across borders.
