the scottish seabird centre is a conservation and education charity dedicated to inspiring people to care for wildlife and the natural environment. supported by a non-profit making, education and 5* visitor experience, income is reinvested in the charitable work undertaken by our committed staff and volunteers. in our discovery experience, visitors can control interactive live cameras to see wildlife in its natural habitat or learn more about scotland’s marine environment through information boards, mechanical digital and virtual reality exhibits. the cameras are on the bass rock, the world's largest northern gannet colony, and spectacular islands such as fidra, isle of may and craigleith. craigleith is home to the centre's sos puffin project - an invasive species control project. from our learning hub we run informative and fun education and outreach based activities for groups of all ages and abilities. we pride ourselves on giving a high quality outdoor learning experience. our innovative and fun live science shows help to bring topical issues that impact our marine environment, and the actions people can take, to a wide range of audiences. we also offer seasonal wildlife watching boat trips, in partnership with local boat operators, and have a gift shop and café with spectacular views across the firth of forth.
