Serionix creates high-performance air filters based on a proprietary adsorptive coating technology called Colorfil™, which changes colors as it removes toxic chemicals and odors from the air. Through this intuitive, vibrant color change, Colorfil™ lets users know when the filters are working and when they need to be replaced. Colorfil™ is also capable of removing pet odors, specifically the smell coming from cat urine. Serionix originated at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 through coordinated efforts by Professor James Economy, Dr. James Langer, and Dr. Weihua Zheng. Over years of extensive research and development, our team has developed filtration technology that has received awards from the Army, the National Science Foundation, and NASA (it may even be used in space suits!) in excess of $3M.
