Serving The Homefront (STH) is a 501(c)(3) charity organization on a mission to connect with and empower the caregivers of wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans through education, advocacy, and service. America has been at war for the longest period of time in our nations history. Since October 2001, more than 2.5 million troops have been deployed in support of the global war on terrorism. With rapid advances in battlefield medicine, troops are now more likely to survive combat wounds than in previous wars. Many have been left with devastating injuries that require the long-term support of caregiving from spouses, parents, and children. The recovery and rehabilitation of a wounded warrior could span anywhere from a few months to several years, even extending to decades of care. Providing this level of support to the needs of our wounded, ill, and injured heroes takes a substantial physical and emotional toll on our military caregivers. At STH, we aim to improve the quality of life for military caregivers and their families by providing support through programs that mobilize communities to ease the burden of care.
