In March 2015 eligible businesses within Sheffield City Centre voted to invest collectively to improve their environment through the creation of a Business Improvement District (BID). Sheffield City Centre BID Limited is delivering the Sheffield BID and its associated Action Plan on behalf of these businesses. Its purpose is to provide additional or improved services identified and requested by local businesses. The BID is a five-year project that officially launched in April following the successful ballot. The BID Company became fully operational in October 2015. The BID currently includes 505 businesses.
