I was shot in the leg in a nightclub in 2006. For so long I struggled alone, not knowing if what I was experiencing was common, and not knowing where to turn for help. It wasn't until I met other survivors and heard their stories that I finally started to heal. I now work one-on-one and in groups with shooting survivors to help them feel safe and freely live their lives again. I also lead workshops and staff trainings in schools and organizations to help communities heal in the devastating aftermath of gun violence.
