Highly recommend!"​ In 2003, Simply Sports Cars was founded by Director & Engineer Lee Knappett in Sydney, with an aim to import used Lotus cars from the UK to Australia. A delay in testing and granting of licences made Lee decide to put his Degree in Automotive Engineering to use and assist with track support for some of the competitors in the single-make Lotus race series running at the time. As with any race car, room for improvement was quickly identified on the Exiges, and so the development of Simply Sports Cars'​ line of performance products was born. As Simply Sports Cars'​ reputation for designing products and offering services grew, news filtered down to track day enthusiasts and other road car owners who simply sought quality servicing and repairs, carried out by experienced professionals. As a result, the team at Simply Sports Cars rapidly expanded and outgrew their Balmain home, forcing a relocation to Artarmon on Sydney's North Shore. In 2013, the national importer for Lotus cars recognised the prominence of Simply Sports Cars within the Lotus community and granted exclusive dealership rights for the NSW territory to Simply Sports Cars. Simply Sports Cars is now the leading Lotus dealer in Australia with its purpose built facility in Artarmon.
