Sine Qua Non is a think tank founded in 2018 by researchers and young professionals in Paris. We at Sine Qua Non pride ourselves not only with our backgrounds and experiences from all over the European continent and beyond, but also as being representatives of a generation living in a united Europe under increased globalization. Thanks to this, we were able to experience the European idea, its impact and its image, both in Europe and outside of it. We share the conviction that the European Unions future depends on it upholding the principles that the Union itself proclaims, especially in a region that is inherently connected to Europe. We believe that the historical and socio-cultural ties between the two sides of the Mediterranean are too important to overlook. Our main goal is to identify the European Unions shortcomings in the MENA region, and to present alternative modes of action. In order to do so, we aim to analyse the contemporary political reality in areas that concern European foreign policy, and scrutinize these policies and their results while comparing them to the EUs proclaimed principles.
