Sistema Biobolsa is a technological, methodological and financial strategy to improve the efficiency and quality of life of small farmers by improving the use of existing resources through the distribution of modern, high quality, and resilient infrastructure and education. Our technology converts a wide range of organic waste types and volumes into methane gas and organic fertilizer. Our educational methodology aligns local myths and cultural components with the basic ecological principal that there is no waste, only inputs into other productive processes. This is done through explorations of the local stories and values of each areas, creating emotional and empathetic links with local farmers to inspire a deep desire for change. Our modular, patented anaerobic digester reconceives the technology as a modular, scalable, and high quality durable good that can be tightly packaged for distribution to the remote rural areas at scale. We have developed biogas use technology that provides thermal, mechanical, and electrical generation never before available commercially at the smallfarmer scale; specialized outreach material maximizes the impact of the effluent as an organic fertilizer. The technology is distributed through microentrepreneurs in each region, supported by a microfinance program, and managed through a centralized data and client services platform that ensures long term adoption and impact monitoring.
