Founders Tom Parks and Shreiff Benaziza launched the company from a university bedroom after they realised that lenders were not treating their customers fairly. Smart-Pig has always featured a number of safeguards for our customers which have placed us well to adjust to FCA requirements. The company has gone on to win a national advertising award as well as being a finalist for Credit Today’s Alternative Lender of the Year 2014 and 2015. Since 2012 we estimate Smart-Pig has saved students over a million pounds in late payment fees and interest compared to other HCSTC lenders.
