The Southport Medical Centre is a group practice, which has been operating in the Southport area since 1947. The Centre provides a comprehensive range of medical services, including home and institutional visits and a collaborative approach to chronic disease management. The Southport Medical Centre is an accredited Group 1 training practice responsible for the provision of GP training for Registrars under the Australian Vocational Training Program. Since January 2008 the Southport Medical Centre has been an accredited training practice for post-graduate Year 1 Interns from the Gold Coast Hospital. PGY’s do a ten week term in General Practice as part of their hospital rotation. We are also a training practice for medical and nursing students. We appreciate the co-operation and participation of our patients in this training role. In keeping with our commitment to continuous quality improvement we are accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation Ltd. Accreditation recognises our commitment to safety and quality standards within General Practice.
