Standard Metallurgical Company (SMC) Limited is a limited liability company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on April 1, 2010 with the principal objective of producing, marketing and selling international standard Reinforcing Steel Bar, Wire Rod in Coils, HRC, Billets, Blooms and Slabs. SMC Steel Rolling Mill has a multi-phased Integrated Iron and Steel Complex to produce 1.1 M tons of long and flat steel products . In line with the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan to expand value-added production and to further utilize local raw materials available in Nigeria to satisfy the local market demands; we decided to expand our hot rolling mill by producing superior quality of Indusial Steel Billet. The expansion Production is targeted to satisfy the current shortfall in local production of qualified steel billets. The expansion to be made on our land (57 Hectares) in Sagamu, Ogun State where our current production facility is located. This comprises of Iron and Steel Melt Shop, using the latest technology for scrap recycling, EAF (Electrical Arc Furnace) where the steel liquid can be treated to achieve the universal standard, and Continuous Casting Machine of Steel Billets, with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons
