Steinwurf was founded in 2011 and develops data communication components and systems leveraging erasure correcting codes. We utilize both traditional erasures codes such as Reed-Solomon and the next generation erasure code called Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC). Erasure correcting codes can increase the reliability of communications and storage systems by restoring lost data through sophisticated mathematics. This technology is commonly used in satellite communication, distributed storage optimization, and local live video streaming. We offer fast software implementations of erasure correcting codes and consult for their integration into, and (re)design of, communication protocols and systems. Additionally, we provide network protocols utilizing erasure correcting codes, e.g. providing reliable multicast.
