temiskaming hospital (th) is located in temiskaming shores, on serving the communities and a population of 33,000. th is a fully accredited, medium-sized hospital comprised of: • 47-bed medical/surgical and transitional care unit; • 5-bed obstetrical and level 1 nursery unit; • 6-bed critical care unit including 3-bed step-down unit; and • hospice palliative care suite th offers a wide range of acute and post-acute care, ambulatory, surgical and specialty services including: oncology, ambulatory care clinics, elderly care, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, dialysis, emergency medicine, general surgery, family medicine, internal medicine, laboratory medicine, critical care, mental health and addictions, ophthalmology, palliative care, pediatric and urology services. additionally, th provides access to a number of specialty services through the hospital’s specialist care program including: psychiatry, cardiology, orthopedics, gynecology, pediatrics, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology urology and through the ontario telemedicine network including consults with the centre for addiction and mental health. temiskaming hospital is the district’s referral hospital for obstetrics, telestroke, and surgical services. in partnership with sudbury’s health sciences north (hsn), th provides system treatment/chemotherapy, cardiac rehabilitation services and supports virtual critical care and satellite dialysis programs.
