The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Ireland

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Ireland (CILT) is the recognised professional body for individuals and companies working in the logistics, transport and supply chain industries. CILT Ireland is a member of the wider CILT International family which has offices in over 30 countries and 33,000 members worldwide. Our three main areas we look after are; Education, Membership and Governance. Registered Charity: Number CHY6502 Education: CILT run a two year, part time Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with links to Degree level with IT Carlow and NMCI, Cork. CILT are the examining agent for the CPC, ADR and DGSA for the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Health and Safety Authority. The Institute also runs a variety of CPD courses for individuals and companies who can avail of the Skillnets Network. Membership: We welcome members to the Institute who are looking to develop their network, learn and attend events organised by us. Membership grades are from Member, Chartered and Fellow. Under membership we run many events, visits, and meet ups. There is an active Eastern and Southern section who host a number of events throughout the year. We also work closely with the Northern Ireland body to better develop our working relationship. Governance: As part of the remit of CILT as a professional institute working as a voice for the sector we publish policy documents, briefing notes and other resources pertinent to the industry. We have a number of committees that manage the running of the Institute, these are; Council, Education and Training, Business Development, Membership and Audit. Under the responsibility of CEO Joe Kenny, the Institute looks to move our presence in the industry forward and become a leading voice through publications, events, members, education and corporate collaboration.
