Since 1988, The Children's Healing Institute, (CHI) has been changing the course of children’s lives by partnering with their parents through education, guidance, support, and linkage to needed resources. The mission of The Children's Healing Institute is to prevent child abuse by strengthening families facing crisis, challenge, and change and our vision is that all children are happy, healthy and safe in their own homes. CHI has an excellent reputation as a community leader in the field of child abuse prevention. By partnering with parents we are able to change the course of children’s lives. Our acclaimed TEACUP Preemie Program® is well known among the infant mental health community, hospital NICUs, and lactation professionals for its caring support to families and expertise in preterm birth. Our evidences based Parent Aide Program teaches positive parenting practices, helps families strengthen their social connections; teaches parent resilience and social and emotional competence. Our Youth Mentoring Program fosters a child’s ability to interact positively with others, self-regulate, and effectively communicate emotions. Our First Play program strengthens the bond of babies with their parents through massage & storytelling. Lastly, our National Turn on the Light Conference educates hundreds of professionals each year on current topics and trends affecting children and families in our community.
