The Insurance Charity (formerly The Insurance Charities) exists to support insurance people when they need us most. You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out, there are lots of ways we can help. We offer one-off and ongoing financial support and practical guidance to current and former insurance professionals in the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands who are experiencing hardship resulting from misfortune. In 2023/2024 we awarded over £1.4 (€1.7) million to those facing challenging circumstances such as illness, domestic abuse, relationship breakdown and disability. If you’ve worked in insurance, you and your dependants may be eligible for our help. It doesn’t matter what role you’ve had in the industry or when, or your length of service. We can support people after they’ve left the profession including those who’ve retired or been made redundant. There is always something we can do, even if we can’t offer financial help. We may be able to help you with signposting, or referrals to other services for practical support with housing and debt concerns. We understand life’s challenges so encourage anyone who needs a little extra support to get in touch. We’re here for as long as you need us. Even with the support of an employer people can still face hardship. We’d like to encourage anyone who employs people in the industry to share our information and contact us if you would like to find out more. We offer employers a free route to support and are a trusted partner you can signpost your colleagues to. There is no membership involved and by working in partnership with us, those you have invested in can access more of the support they need.
