We're on a mission to provide the nation with skills, knowledge and confidence to cook from scratch. We believe that being able to cook allows people take control over what they eat. With even the most rudimentary cooking skills, many people are less likely to buy ready meals or processed foods many of which are higher in salt, fat and sugar and lacking in essential nutrition than whole foods. Cooking provides people with ways to get more fruit and vegetables into their diet. We aim to create a healthier food culture by improving cookery skills and food and nutrition education to ensure that people have better relationships with food. The Let's Cook Project has an established set of objectives aimed at delivering activities that benefit segments of the community including, but not limited to, children, young people and their families. These objectives include: - Developing and improving the skills, knowledge and confidence to cook healthily from scratch. - Providing training and guidance in nutritional health and the preparation and serving of nutritionally healthy food based on the Public Health England Eatwell guide. - Promoting the importance of practical cooking skills in the reduction of food inequalities with particular emphasis on health
