CANADA'S FIRST VOICE IN OCEAN SHIPPING - The Shipping Federation of Canada, incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1903, is the national association that represents the owners, operators and agents of ocean ships that carry Canada's exports and imports to and from world markets. The Federation's key activities are to provide advocacy for the ocean shipping industry; develop compliance tools and advice for member companies; provide expertise to support safe and efficient ship operations; and serve as an information resource for members and other stakeholders. The Federation's overall objective is to works towards a safe, efficient, competitive, environmentally sustainable and quality-oriented marine transportation system.
