The Smile Brigade are a social enterprise providing free and heavily subsidised services and activities to local people on low incomes or at risk of loneliness and social isolation. Our activities address our clients physical, social and mental health needs. The idea is to help take people away from the more negative aspects of life by providing positive and meaningful activities as well as an outlet for people to express themselves in a safe space and supportive environment. Our services help people who are lonely and isolated to feel like a valued member of the community whilst promoting social networks. Through activities that develop basic skills including communication, it is more likely that the people we help will find the confidence to access other beneficial services such as healthcare for example.
