RESIDENTIAL HOMES TO BILLION-DOLLAR INFRASTRUCTURE Tino Structures is led by Dr John Jing, who is one of New Zealand’s top structural engineers. Since 2004, John has been involved in many new-build projects ranging from single-storey houses to multi-million-dollar multi-storey buildings and multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects, including bridges. It comes as no surprise that property owners/developers, councils and leading engineering firms continue to rely on John’s extensive experience and expertise. STRUCTURAL EFFICIENCY AND RESILIENCE Structural efficiency can be defined in many ways, but we will try to optimise space utilisation within a building while keeping structural costs at the minimum. To make buildings resilient to major earthquakes, we design low-damage and damage-avoidance systems such as base isolation, hybrid dampers, buckling-restrained braces, rocking walls and frames and slip-friction connections. A REGISTERED HIGH-RISK PRODUCER STATEMENT AUTHOR Dr John Jing is a registered high-risk producer statement author (structural) and one of a handful of structural engineers on the Auckland Council’s high-risk register. This means he is an Auckland Council-approved professional that can issue Producer Statements (PS1, PS2 and PS4) for buildings and structures deemed high risk.
