Tools for Schools: Helping students go from backpacks to briefcases. Our Mission is to help students prepare for the world of work by exposing them to some important tools and approaches in use within business and industry today. We are an organization for the students, by the students. The students are our customers. Our Student Advisory Board helps us establish priorities and they advise us on how best to serve them. THE PROBLEM Most schools do a very good job of preparing students for the world of work with a few minor exceptions. Our perceived gap involves a lack of: awareness of; access to; and an understanding in some of the tools used in business and industry today. OUR DESIRED FUTURE STATE All students have access to simple self awareness tools. Self Awareness and Career Guidance are foundational elements in our program to help students go from backpacks to briefcases. We also desire to see more students enter the world of work with an understanding of important business tools maybe even add a certification to their resume? Our Pledge is to comply with the BBB Standards for Charity Accountability with regard to % of total expenses spent on program activities, and % of related contributions spent on fundraising.
