Trethowan Architecture was founded in 2001 and engages in bespoke projects and specialises in heritage matters. The practice, based in Richmond, is supported by a dynamic and energising team of architects and heritage professionals that are dedicated to the successful delivery of such projects. The practice has contributed to Melbourne’s built environment through the design and execution of large and small scale projects. As well as in-house expertise, the practice often collaborates with an experienced and extended team of external professionals, to deliver a variety of projects for our private sector and Local and State Government clients. All projects are tailored to individual requirements. Our architect services range from small one-off projects to the full scope of services - conception to client occupation. Such services include, but are not limited to: condition surveys, concept and detailed design for buildings and interiors, master planning, facilitation of development proposals, and administration and documentation. Our heritage consultancy service provides a range of skills that can assist in all aspects of heritage matters. We offer assistance with heritage planning and management through the identification, analysis and assessment of the historic environment; and the compilation of Heritage Impact Statements, Conservation Management Plans (CMP), and heritage and typology studies. We provide heritage advisory and advocacy services to individuals and Government bodies. We also offer practical restoration advice and, in conjunction with our architectural services, can provide documentation, monitoring and supervision of conservation works.
