The word Ubuntu, is derived from a Zulu phrase Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu, meaning a person is a person through other people. Life, would not be life if it wasnt for the existence of somebody to your left and somebody to your right. The founders being Christians, could relate to this belief, and are advocates for love your neighbour, as you love yourself Matthew 22.39. Founders & Directors: Jemima Laryea and Melanie Onassis Lema are partners in the new venture Ubuntu Fashion. Both had a deep passion for cultural fashion and soon after began the journey of designing, manufacturing and selling culturally inspired fashion. The immediate influence in Ubuntu was that of East meets West. Products: Handmade by skilled artisans in Africa making the label Made in Africa, super hot! Both Melanie and Jemima are involved in the designing process during the production stage.
