ZotSun, the UC Irvine Solar Car Team, is a student-run project team dedicated to designing and building solar-powered electric race cars to compete in the American Solar Challenge (ASC) and Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP). Our project provides a unique opportunity for engineering students from various disciplines to gain hands-on experience with an emerging technology, solar-powered vehicles, and contribute to the advancement of green energy and sustainability. Currently, ZotSun has successfully completed an electric vehicle prototype, serving as a foundational model for testing and refining our designs. In the coming year, ZotSun aims to construct our first competition solar car, bringing UCI to the 2025 FSGP race track.
