United Kingdom Rescue Organisation

The United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) is a group of Fire and Rescue Service and medically qualified volunteers from across the UK. We are committed to advancing professional rescue standards throughout the UK and internationally by bringing together rescue services using the Rescue Challenge Concept. The UKRO is a charitable incorporated organisation entered on the Register of Charities for England and Wales with the registered charity number 1166883. It’s governance structure is set around a board of trustees who undertake the day to day management of the UKRO by means of the following directorates, which include Education and Development, International Development, Rescue Challenge development, Legal, Governance, Administrative Services and Health & Safety and Organisational Development, Marketing and Communications. The UKRO National Rescue Challenge is a platform for UK and international rescue professionals to learn, develop best practice and share skills and knowledge in technical and medical rescue. The UKRO in conjunction with a host FRS deliver this annual event for rescue teams to attend educational workshops and compete against each other for the Best Individual and Team awards. The five Rescue Discipline which form part of the annual rescue challenge include Rope, Trauma Care, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Vehicle Extrication and Water.
