the university of szeged (szte) with a history dating back to 1581, is located in szeged, the sunniest city of hungary according to qs, szte was the best hungarian university in 2018. since hungary is a member of the european union it also has eu accreditation. outstanding professors have worked at the university, including the nobel laureate albert szent-györgyi (1937), who was the first to isolate vitamin c, extracting it from szeged paprika. it is a research university covering 700 research areas at 19 doctoral schools with 52 full-time degree programs for international students at bachelor’s, master’s and phd level. scholarships, such as the stipendium hungaricum scholarship programme assist students from various regions of the world. our student body grew to 21000, in which the number of international students exceeds 3500. www.u-szeged.hu/english h-6720 szeged, dugonics tér 13 directorate for international affairs international@rekt.szte.hu
