Created in 2017, VH Quatrevingtreize initially developed and patented hydroturbines, made of biosourced and recyclable materials, transforming water movements into renewable energy. Our technology was validated in real conditions in Provence’ rivers. In a context of climate change acceleration, observed in rivers in the past 2-3 years with a growing variation of dry episodes or flooding, we adapted our strategy to move away from static energy production ; in 2023 we designed an autonomous sailing vessel, equipped with our hydroturbines -that are located under the hull-, to transform wave movements into renewable energy. Thanks to its mobility, to AI, to weather forecast, the vessel is able to harvest energy where and when it is present, optimizing its production while being able to protect itself from extreme events. Once produced, the energy can be stored in batteries onboard and provided offshore to ocean-users: industry, research and defense. The produced energy can also be shipped to isolated sites and state islands.
