At Virginia Sportsmedicine Institute (VSI) we treat all patients from recreational to professional athletes with care, compassion and expertise. VSI was founded in 1974 as one of the first sports medicine facilities in the United States. Our 4000 square foot facility houses a vast array of the most current rehabilitative equipment and is staffed by the area's leading physical therapists. All therapists are registered and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health Professionals. The staff has extensive experience in treating orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. Virginia Sportsmedicine Institute has a medical team consisting of physical therapists, all with Master's or Clinical Doctoral level degrees. In addition, our clinic has Physical Therapist Assistants with Associate Degrees many of whom have more than twenty years of clinical experience. We work with a wide range of patients ranging from the professional and recreational athletes to the weekend warrior. We also treat non-athletic injuries and patients of all ages. VSI has a certified Hand Therapist on staff that also makes custom hand splints.
