Virtakivi Sauna has been completed for recreational use by the Kymi Company personnel in 1925. Architects Armas Lindgren and Bertel Liljeqvist designed the building in the 1920s. The workers of the Voikkaa papermill uses a three-storey 800 square meter building for sauna, laundry and baking. Located in an idyllic river landscape, on the banks of the River Kymijoki, the building now houses a summer café, a restaurant, a coffee roastery, meeting and exhibition facilities, and of course a sauna and a container bar in the yard with a relaxed atmosphere. The Virtakivi Sauna's summer café is open from the beginning of May until the end of August. We are also open on holidays such as Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, Valentine's Day and New Year's. At other times and evenings, the facilities can be reserved for private occasions. Lunch, from traditional Finnish dishes, is served from Monday to Friday, between 11am-3pm. Virtakiven Sauna creates an excellent setting for meetings, events and celebrations. On beautiful summer days, events can be moved to the tents in the yard right on the shore of Lake Kymijoki.
